The Great Wall of China

THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA
by me

The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China in part to protect the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various warlike peoples or forces.
The Great Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east, to lop Lake in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia
The same distance as from the center of Beijing to downtown London.

We went there the 28 of January and walked about 4,5 miles on the Great Wall.
We crossed the Zhuanduo Pass witch is located 170 miles north east of Beijing city.

We were all alone at The Wall.
No people, all quiet. Just sunlight, snowfall and a fantasy that takes you 500 years back in time.

Something I will never forget.

PIRAMIDA @ efterklang

best danish album release in 2012

all songs is a mix up of electronic music and nature sounds
recorded at a Russian settlement in Spitsbergen,
an Arctic island located just shy of the North Pole.

On PIRAMIDA Efterklang turns these audio snapshots of abandonment,
of isolation touched by unique beauty,
into songs.
